Time Warner had to go into the modem remotely in order to identify the modem/router in their system. This is important because the modem must be selected from the list of WiFi routers to set it up.Įventually, I was transferred to Time Warner's level 3 tech support and they were able to go in through their system and see that the modem ID had been changed by the original owner to something else, which is why we were not finding it in the list of WiFi routers within my commun ity. I worked with a few Time Warner representatives over the phone and we were not able to find the User ID or SSID name, which appears on the back of the modem. The unit which I purchased was refurbished and was a bit challenging to get working, since it was not reset to factory settings. I purchased this cable modem and wireless router for use with Time Warner internet service and it appears to be working fine so far.

This item appears to work well with Time Warner on the West Coast.
